Every time you donate to Goodwill, you help someone find a job. Last year, Goodwill Industries collected over 20 million pounds of donations across the Richmond, Ashland and Tri-Cities area, including clothing, small appliances and furniture.

The revenue from the sale of your donated items in Goodwill stores, outlets, and auctions fund programs for people in need of job training and other support services, allowing them to achieve workplace success.

At Goodwill, over 85 percent of our revenues go directly into education and training programs for people with disabilities and disadvantages, and as an organization, we are consistently ranked among the top charities for putting your donations and dollars to work! It is the generous support from the community that makes our organization run. And, your donations may be tax-deductible.

Gently Used Items
Goodwill accepts many kinds of gently used items from clothing, to housewares, to toys, to books and videos, to sports equipment and more. And, we make the most of your donations by reselling them in our stores to fund the career development and support services programs we provide to individuals with disabilities and other obstacles to employment. Computer Equipment



Goodwill has been accepting computer equipment for resale and recycling since 2007. In 2008, all of the Goodwill organizations in Virginia joined forces with Dell Computers to form the Reconnect Partnership. This partnership enables Goodwill to expand its collection capacity and leverage the longtime expertise of Dell in recycling. All brands and types of computer equipment are accepted at any of our stores and donation sites.

Automobiles
When you donate a vehicle to Goodwill, you may be eligible for a tax deduction, while supporting programs that put people in this community to work. And, Goodwill can even make arrangements to pick up your vehicle.

Medical Equipment
Goodwill's Medical/Adaptive Gifting Program provides medical and adaptive equipment and supplies to older adults and persons with disabilities, to enhance their daily living. The program is funded in part by United Way Services. Donations of gently used medical equipment are accepted at all of our stores.

Financial Donations
Because productive workers make our economy stronger, your financial gift to Goodwill Industries will keep growing! By supporting local programs and services, you will assist individuals with obstacles to employment in your community to become economically and personally independent through work. There are many ways to provide financial support, and your gifts and bequests are tax-deductible.
