The process of moving items from our Donation Centers to our retail outlets is simple. Once delivered to the main facility, donated items are sorted into three categories - store quality, auction quality and salvage quality. Items marked auction quality are sorted again and held aside for the next big auction. It's fast and furious…and over in two or three hours. Parking and the entrance to the auction is located in the back of the facility. |

Donors interested in claiming tax deductions should keep itemized lists of their donations. The Internal Revenue Service allows a deduction for each item, but the donor determines each item's value. Generally, an item's value should be based on fair market value. For general tax deduction guidelines, visit the IRS online. You can find used car bluebook values at the Kelly Blue Book web site and at the used car guide company, N.A.D.A. Personal checks and cash also accepted. If you have a vehicle to donate, please contact: Jeffrey Blake, Marketing Assistant (804) 521-4950 marketing@goodwillrichmond.org For more information about auctions, contact: Diego Velasquez, Auction Manager (804) 521-4962 |
