Goodwill of Central Virginia works with several other agencies to provide services in their areas of specialty too, like Richmond Public Schools and the Department of Parks and Recreation. We have an in-house temporary agency, Goodwill Staffing Solutions (GSS) that offers temporary and temporary-to-permanent job opportunities and a job resource room that is fully equipped to help a person in the job seeking process. It is used on a self-serve basis with assistance provided. Resources include aptitude and interest assessment tools, and occupational information such as tasks, requirements, wages and local training programs. The room is also equipped with computers for resume preparation and community resource information, as well as phones for making job related calls. Community Voice Mail and e-mail accounts are available for individuals who are homeless or without a phone.

Everyone's story is different. One person may have worked for years at one type of job, but not have any other kind of experience. Another person may never have worked and doesn't know where to start. Another might not know how to read. All services are geared to assist individuals at their current level of knowledge, experience and ability.
