In 2008, Goodwill accepted donations from over 850,000 donors and processed over 35 million pounds of donations. Through retail sales, post-retail outlets and auctions, and salvage, that's 35 million pounds of items that stayed out of local landfills.
In addition, Goodwill's RECONNECT partnership with Dell offers donors
a free,safe,and responsible way to dispose of their unwanted computer equipment. Now expanding across the country, the Dell/Goodwill RECONNECT program has collected and properly disposed of over 50 million pounds of electronics since its inception in 2004.
