Whether you are a new computer user or simply want to upgrade your skills, the training available through Goodwill of Central Virginia can meet your needs. The Computer Edge Training Program is individualized, and is designed to equip persons with marketable computer skills necessary in today's workplace. And, with centralized services, you can receive training and job leads in one location! Self-paced programs can focus on computer skills, job-seeking skills training, and job placement assistance, and both day and evening classes are available. Group training classes are also offered to the general public.
Computer Skills Training:
Computer Fundamentals Windows XP covers the fundamentals of computer usage, including interpreting computer terms, customizing the desktop, using shortcuts, mouse "right-clicking", and the Internet. A workbook is included. No pre-requisites required. Cost: $105.00.
Microsoft Word 2000 Level 1 covers tools for text editing, creating tables, graphics, formatting pages, and proofing documents. A workbook is included. Pre-requisite: Computer Fundamentals or equivalent experience. Cost: $105.00
Microsoft Excel 2000 Level 1 covers entering data in a worksheet, creating formulas, and converting spreadsheet data into charts. A workbook is included. Pre-requisite: Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, or equivalent experience. Cost: $105.00
Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 Level 1 covers the basics of creating a presentation with PowerPoint 2000 to make on-screen presentations or slides with graphics and special effects. A workbook is included. Pre-requisite: Working knowledge of Computer Fundamentals. Cost: $105.00
Keyboarding Fundamentals uses a comprehensive software program in class, to cover all of the basic techniques needed to keyboard successfully. No book necessary. No pre-requisites required. Cost: $85.00.
